Day 1 >> Bursa Tour from Istanbul
Ancient Ottoman architecture is being portrayed well by the Ulu Cami (meaning The Great Mosque) and it is the largest mosque in Bursa. This unique architecture was ordered by Sultan Bayezid I and it contains 20 domes and 12 columns to support these domes.Another excellent architected mosque in Bursa is the Green Mosque (Yesil Cami in Turkish), whose name was derived from the green tiles while initially covered the dome. The structure is more beautified by the pristine marble fountain inside an octagon shaped pool. Attributing to the name, the inner walls are decorated with green tiles mixed with blue colored flower structures. The Green Tomb (Yesil Turbe) was constructed by Murad II in memory of his father and predecessor Ottoman Sultan, Mehmed I. This hexagonal styles structure stands tallest among the other buildings in the neighbourhood of Yeşil. Next we visit the Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum of Bursa.Apart from ancient buildings and mosques, Bursa also hosts markets like KOZA HAN and the bazaar quarters (means silk cocoon market) which is the capital for silk trade and industries.

DAY 2: CUMALIKIZIK VILLAGE & IZNIK
On your seceond you will start with the early-Ottoman Village of Cumalikizik. The village was an unknown entity -even to Bursans – until 2000 when it became the filming location for the popular series Kınalı Kar (Henna in the Snow). Cumalikizik is a preferred destinations for Bursa folk for a leisurely weekend brunch in an array of rustic garden restaurants, or as a spot to pick up fresh fruit, local honey and handicrafts.

Formerly known as Nicaea, Iznik, lies to the northeast of Bursa. Nicaea was founded in 316 CE by Antigonas, one of the generals of Alexander the Great, then taken over by another general, Lysimachus, who named the city “Nicaea” for his wife. Iznik was always in the focus during the Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman eras. Two important Ecumenical Councils were held in Iznik; Council of Nicaea in 325 and in 745 over iconoclasm (image breaking).

Iznik was the center of exquisite ceramic ware production which made an important decorative contribution to mosques and palaces throughout Turkey.
