Pre-booking Questions

To book a tour please choose your desired day from the calendar to the bottom of the tour page and continue with the booking steps. Our booking system will take you to the secure payment gateway provided by PayU. You need to pay a deposit to reserve your desired days. You can cancel your reservation up to 72 hours prior to the tour day.

You should finalise your booking no later than 15 days prior to your departure. For summer and other high season travel times, 30 days is a good idea. For assistance please contact us.

We can run the tours even for 1 person as long as the tour(s) is/are booked at the appropriate price.

Credit Card / Online Payment

For your security and peace of mind, we accept payments via credit card. We use PayU as our online payment gateway solution. We have switched to PayU after PayPal’s activities were halted by court. 

Mail Order

For those who are still not comfortable with online bookings, we offer mail-order 

Deposit & Pay on Tour

We also offer deposit payment option for big size groups. Please contact us for more information if your party is six and more people.

All cancellation notifications must be made in written to IstanbulTours101.com. The date of cancellation shall be the date we confirm the receive of your cancellation email. Thus should you consider a cancellation please take the global time differences into consideration. If IstanbulTours101.com cancels your confirmed travel arrangements, any money you have paid will be refunded in full.

If you wish to cancel your booking with us, you will then be subject to the following cancellation charges;

 

Cancellation Charges To Be Applied

  • If you cancel the tour/service from 3 days or more prior to the commencing day, you will get full refund.
  • If you cancel the tour/service within 3 days prior to the commencing day you will get no refund.
  • Any transaction fee for refund recurring from your cancellation will be deducted from the refund amount.

If cancellation occurs when your travel arrangements in progress no refund can be made for the portion not taken. All monies lost due to cancellation by you can be credited to any other travel service within 12 months of cancellation. You must retain the copy of invoice in order to claim credit.

Before a booking is made, you will receive an itinerary for your requested tours. There is no deposit required until one of our tour guides is available for the date(s) you ask a tour for and we hold his available days for your tour. Once agreed on the final itinerary, we then ask for a deposit or full payment depending on the date arrangements are made.

We do not provide any printed document except for their digital copies. We send all the necessary information required by email.

No, none of our tour/travel packages include the international airfare. You would get better quote online when booking your international flight. By booking your own international flight, you have more flexibility and control of your choices.

Yes, when you observe the tour prices you will find that the “per person price” decreases gradually depending on the number of the group.

Your guide will one of our team members all of whom are professional licensed tour guides. We generally inform about the guide 2 days before the start of the tour. 

We generally encourage our guests to use public transportation. It is very convenient at some routes and with a good combination of taxi for small parties we offer competitive prices. 

If the group size is more than 3, we rent a van (ie Mercedes Vito).

All vehicles used for tours (except for public transport and yellow taxis), are air-conditioned, non-smoking, comfortable and less than 4 years old.

Depending on the size of the group we use cars/vans for 1-2 participants, minibuses for 3-12 participants, mid-size buses for 13-20 participants and full size buses for participants between 21-40.

The restaurants we pick are the ones that proved themselves for long time in the Turkish Tourism Industry. Cleanliness, quality of services and good cuisine are our priorities when choosing the restaurants.

We use hotels situated at excellent locations and close to all amenities. Room types range from double rooms to junior suites, depending on the package of choice. Amenities and facilities may differ from those in your country.

General Questions

Although Turkey is a year round holiday destination, the best time to travel is between April to November.

Yes, we strongly recommend you have an insurance policy to ensure a care free holiday whilst travelling. It is important that your insurance policy covers you against trip cancellation/interruptions for any reason, travel/baggage delay or loss of baggage and medical expenses.

It is banned by Turkish Laws that smoking in all enclosed public areas, transportation, hotels, restaurants and bars etc. There is also non smoking policy whilst on board the tour/transfer vehicles. However, we make plenty of comfort stops, allowing you ample opportunity to smoke if you wish, stretch your legs, take scenic snapshots or enjoy a glass of Turkish Tea or a cup of coffee.

At the time this document is updated (June 2018), there are no special immunization requirements for travelling in Turkey. Please contact us for special travelling requirements such as wheelchairs or walkers.

A valid passport is necessary throughout your travel. As of May 23rd, 2016, electronic visa (e-Visa) replaces “sticker visa” which was issued at the border crossings. Applicants just need to log on to www.evisa.gov.tr, provide the requested information, (after the application is approved) make online payment and download their e-Visa. You can check whether you need a visa to Turkey or not from http://www.mfa.gov.tr/visa-information-for-foreigners.en.mfa
